Custom built wheels

I have been building wheels for over 18 years, and bring this experience and my engineering
background to build tight, durable wheels to match the rider and their intended riding. From
superlight road race wheels to expedition mountain bike wheels, I am happy to discuss any
requirements.

My favorite hubs to build with for lightweight wheels are made in Italy by Extralite. And yes
they are very light! Another European option are the excellent Soul-Kozak hubs from Poland.
Lightweight and good value - and now in stock!.

However, I can also build using Shimano, Campagnolo, DT, American Classic, Powertap or
most other hubs as required. Two recent additions to the road hub market, both offering solid
durability with reasonably low weights, are: Chris King needs no introduction, with the
introduction of the R45 road hubs they bring their considerable expertise to the road rider.
Alchemy are relatively new, but their hub design is an uncompromised piece of engineering,
offering great rolling with durability. I can now also offer the C4 range of hubs, made in
California and offering an array of options.

For rims I am using Utah based Enve Composites excellent products. With internal nipples
and co-molded spoke holes, these are a very strong, yet lightweight choice for a carbon rim.
Other options (Reynolds, DT, Velocity etc) are available as required.

For a lightweight aluminium road wheel I recommend NoTubes Alpha 340; I can also build
with any of their superb range of mountain bike rims.

For spokes I generally use DT (aerolite) or Sapim (Cx-ray), but can also offer Pillar titanium
bladed spokes for additional weight savings.

For quick release skewers to match the wheels there is the very light (42g/pair)
design from Soul Kozak.
