Zipp carbon wheels
Zipp produce a range of carbon rims for all occasions. They can be built to order to your specification onto
American Classic hubs (the rear American Classic hub is about the same weight as Zipp's (+3g), but the front AC
hub is 26g lighter. Also, AC hubs use conventional spokes, rather than the harder to find straight pull spokes
used by Zipp)
All front wheels use the Micro 58 road hub. This minimalistic front hub is light and aerodynamic.
The shell is forged in one piece and has the bearing placed as close as possible to the point of loading at the fork ends.
With flanges nearly 4mm thick, it can withstand the stresses of radial spoking, yet weighs in at a mere 58 grams.
Rear wheels ae built onto the RD 205 hub. This incredibly light, 205 gram hub features six oversized pawls which engage in
unison when drive torque is applied, providing a strong and reliable action. Available to suit Campagnolo or Shimano
cassettes.
Zipp 303: The lightest wheels, with a semi-deep section rim for excellent handling. Perfect
for hilly road races or mountain time trials.
Zipp 404: The perfect dual purpose wheel - deep enough to provide great aerodynamics for time
trialling, yet light enough for road racing. Now with dimples to save a few more precious watts!
Zipp 808: Zipp's latest rim was used to great effect in the 2004 Olympic games to win two
medals. Faster than a tri-spoke, almost as good as a disc.
Zipp 900: Zipp have improved there already very popular rear disc wheel with a dimpled surface
to make it even faster. The ultimate rear wheel for time trialling.
